1. Care of your Dog

We will take every care of your dog while we are working and grooming. 

Our van is converted to the highest standards, and we use the latest equipment at our disposal. We have carefully selected all our grooming and washing products from leading trade suppliers who specialise in supplying the professional grooming industry. 

After every completed session we will be happy to discuss the outcome with you to ensure that our service meets the needs of your pet. We will also give you tips and advice for maintenance between grooms.

The owner is required to provide full disclosure of any medical conditions or allergies their dog has prior to grooming. We provide treats during grooming to positively enforce cooperation. The owner must make us aware if their dog is not to have these. The owner can supply their own treats if they prefer. 

2. Dogs with behavioural issues

We are a family business and chose this industry because our love of animals. We have extensive practical experience and training in dog grooming and with animals in general. We will always endeavour to do everything within our knowledge to help your pets enjoy the process of being washed and groomed however, at all times we have the right to refuse to work with dogs with behaviour problems in the interest of our safety. 

In some cases, it may be necessary to muzzle or restrain a dog to complete a groom for safety reasons. The owner must inform us if they do not wish the dog to be muzzled or restrained. If a dog does display signs of aggression or has behavioural issues whilst being groomed, we may charge an extra ‘behavioural fee’ or in some cases we may refuse to groom. In either case, this cost or action is decided at our discretion, upon assessment. 

The owner agrees to inform Pawsabilities, prior to their dogs grooming session if the dog has bitten or has aggressive tendencies or any behavioural issues. The owner understands they will be held liable for all bites caused by their dog.

3. Seven point health check

We will carry out a seven point health check on your dog during their consultation, and we will examine for any irregular lumps, infections or parasites during the grooming process and if anything is found our groomer will discuss it with you, but it must be stressed that this is not a professional medical examination as would be given by your vet or medical advice and for this your vet must be consulted.

4. Insurance

At all times we have full Public liability Insurance in the event of damage, accident or loss to your pet or our staff. Please ask the owner for more details if necessary.

5. De-matting of fur

In the event of matted fur resulting in the need to clip tight to the dog’s skin to enable removal, the owner should be aware that irritation may occur from the shaving process. The dog’s skin may get caught because of the close proximity of working to the skin. The owner agrees that Pawsabilites LTD shall not be held liable for any after grooming effects of matt clipping procedures or problems uncovered’ on a badly matted neglected coat The owner agrees to pay all costs for the grooming of the dog including de-matting which is an extra cost, whether or not the groomer is able to complete the job. You will be asked to sign your consent prior to us performing this groom.

6. Cancellations

Appointments cancelled with less than 48hrs notice will incur a fee of 50% in all circumstances and will be invoiced. Appointments missed where a groomer has arrived and nobody is home, or the groom cannot be undertaken on arrival due to customers circumstances, will incur a fee of 100% of the standard grooming charge, which will be invoiced due to the loss of time and travelling costs incurred as this could have been booked to another dog. All fees must be paid in advance to your groomer on re scheduling by BACS and no less than 48hrs prior to any further appointment being attended. Nonpayment will mean re allocation of any further appointment without notice.

7. Pricing and presentation of your dog at time of grooming

All our prices are listed on a ‘from’ basis as prices can vary due to a number of factors individually taken into account. All pricing given verbally and as accurately as possible following discussion and assessment of your needs, and in the interests of getting it right for both you and us, some prices and decisions are at the groomer’s discretion at the time of your appointment.

All prices listed and quoted are based on the dog being presented for groom in a normal condition. That is, not matted, and in a reasonably clean condition, that is not muddy, sandy, wet etc. We also expect that your dog is free of flees and is up to date with vaccinations and flee and worming treatments. If a dog is found to have fleas a standing charge of £30 minimum will be applied to cover the cost of sanitising our van to prevent spread to other clients. De matting charges start at £15.

7. Advertising

We may use photo’s of your dog for advertising purposes on social media and our website. Please let us know if you do not want us to use your dog’s photo for these purposes.

 

Data protection

As a part of Data Protection Act (GDPR) it is necessary for us to inform you of the information we keep about you and your pet, how it is used and stored and to receive permission for specific information to be stored and used.

The following information is stored in online format and on record cards:

  • details you have given to us about you: your name, your address, your phone number(s) and e-mail address 
  • details you have given to us about your dog: name, birthday,, breed, coat type, weight, gender etc.
  • details of what we have done to your dog – blades, combs used, where we have scissored, nails trimmed, date of the visits etc.
  • Any likes or dislikes of your dog e.g sensitive feet, like treats etc.
  • dog`s grooming temperament – good, nervous, hard, biter etc
  • any medical problems (lumps, bumps, warts, heart murmur etc.)

Online format is protected by password. 

If you move your are welcome to take these details with you to give it to your new groomer 

Any non-returning customer information will be inactive after 1 year.

Like many websites, our server logs capture details of your operating system and browser software, IP address, URL, including the date and time of your visit. We use cookies to analyse how our site is used by visitors. If you do not wish cookies to be saved to your system, you may change your browser settings.

Pawsabilities DOES NOT share any customer data or information with any third parties for marketing or any other purpose.
